A Zakat Calculator is an easy-to-use digital tool that helps Muslims accurately calculate the amount of Zakat (obligatory charity) they need to pay, typically 2.5% of their zakatable wealth.

Zakat is one of the Five Pillars of Islam and is mandatory for eligible Muslims who meet the nisab threshold (minimum amount of wealth held for one lunar year).

The calculator is especially helpful during Ramadan or the Islamic calendar year when many people fulfill their Zakat obligations.

How to Use the Zakat Calculator

Follow these steps to calculate your Zakat:

  1. Enter Your Cash Holdings
Add up the amount of money you have (in hand, bank accounts, digital wallets, etc.).
  2. Enter the Value of Your Gold and Silver .Use current market rates to estimate the total value.
  3. Add Other Zakatable Assets .Include business inventory, investment profits, stocks, receivable loans, or other savings.
  4. Enter Liabilities (if any). Input short-term debts or financial obligations due within a year (e.g., unpaid bills, short loans).
  5. Click “Calculate”. The calculator subtracts liabilities from total assets to get your net zakatable wealth, then applies the 2.5% zakat rate.
  6. Review Zakat Due. The result shows how much Zakat you owe based on your net wealth.

📌 Example:

If you have:

Cash: ₹100,000

Gold: ₹50,000

Silver: ₹10,000

Business Assets: ₹20,000

Liabilities: ₹15,000

Your net assets = ₹165,000
Zakat due = ₹165,000 × 2.5% = ₹4,125
